TRANSLATION OF THE BOOK OF HADITH STUDIED BY FIRST YEAR STUDENT OF DAR AL-MUSTAFA
To date, there isn’t a text of hadith from Tareem available to the English speaking Westernised Muslims despite the amount of demand and attention this demographic connects itself to the scholars in Tareem.
Selections of the Triumphant (Qutuuf al-Faaliheen) is studied and memorized by first year students of Dar al-Mustafa. It is a selection of hadith by Habib Omar derived from the classic Garden of the Righteous (Riyaadh us-Saaliheen) by Imam an-Nawawi.
The publication will be in two:
- Pocket size book of only the hadiths in Arabic and English translation
- A5 size book of the hadiths in Arabic, English translation, and official commentary by teacher of Dar al-Mustafa Sayyid Alwi al-Aydarus.
The hadiths albeit from the same work of Imam an-Nawawi that many scholars derive from, the selection of Habib Omar gives a flavor in Islamic spirituality as emphasized by the tradition of Tareem and what it stands for.
It seeks to bring benefit primarily to:
- First year students of Dar al-Mustafa who are yet fluent in Arabic, and Students from around the world who study the same books at a slower pace via part time courses
- Public speakers and preachers who conduct lessons and give talks to the public and their communities
- General public especially those interested in Prophetic Traditions.
The Cost of the translator is US$ 300 per month. The translation started in November 2021.
The translation is done by Shaykh Abdullah Solih from Namibia. After converting to Islam while working in the UK in his youth, he went to seek knowledge of the sacred sciences in Tareem. After some years he is actively involved in da’wah and working as an official translator in his home Namibia. Abdullah is the resident Arabic-English translator for the project.
To date (November 2022) half of the commentaries of the hadith have been translated. In total there are 116 Hadiths. It is estimated that the translation project can be completed by the end of 2023.
